My name is Ella Mashkautzen and thanks to inheriting my dear Mother Larisa’s beauty, spent much of my life in front of the camera. As the finalist and winner in Israel’s Next Top Model, I started to explore and create my own relationship with the lens. My friend’s are my muses and I capture their beauty through the lens in uncompromising positions and poses. My first exhibit “Beautiful Monsters” took place in Jaffa Israel in 2011 and was part of the artist series Red White & View. The Red White & View founder and curator Michael Wein discovered my photos and encouraged me to join this exhibition. It was a life-changing experience and the response I received inspired me to do the global exhibit SlideLuck PotShow with my “Radio Time” series and a second Red White & View in 2012. Art enthusiasts there have told me that my work evokes similarities to Andy Warhol. I am humbled by the comparison and hope you appreciate my personal pictures and equally important, the photos I’ve snapped.
I have also begun to experiment in the creation of video clips – and the videos on my site were directed, produced, edited and scored with my original music. My musical flair for singing, guitar and composition come from my dear Father, Michael Mashkautzen – a world-renowned classical guitarist, singer and composer. I can trace my talent directly to him and am blessed to have inherited a small degree of his monumental talent.
Thank you for visiting my site – Ella
